EID MUBARAK!

Asaalam everyone,
EID HAS ARRIVED!
The three days of Eid, some started yesterday, like me, but despite that, I just wanted to say:

                           EID MUBARAK!

Insha-Allah I will start writing posts for this blog again a few months before Ramadan, for now Eid Mubarak!

Evaluation.

Asaalam everyone,
Insha-Allah many of us are probably celebrating Eid today, however, I have also heard of a few people who are still fasting, but I decided to write this blog today anyway, fasting or not Insha-Allah it may be able to help you in some way.
Ramadan has just- gone!
It has passed like that, in basic, its gone so quickly in my point of view.
At the end of anything important, it's quite crucial to evaluate, so you know where to improve, and here and there I have heard this idea of an evaluation. A couple of days ago, I wrote a blog on a reflection type evaluation for the rest of Ramadan. This is a different evaluation though, and I would like you to do as below for this final activity of my blog this year Insha-Allah.
So I am going to leave a few basic questions for you to fill in below for your evaluation, and what I would like you to do is to write down answers, or to think about the answers.
Insha-Allah it will help.

1. How many of your goals for Ramadan have you achieved?
2. What goals have you achieved this Ramadan?
3. What will you Insha-Allah be taking with you this Ramadan?
4. What have you improved on this year, from last year's Ramadan?
5. Have you spent your time wisely?
6. Do you think you have let this Ramadan pass and not used it wisely?
7. What part of your Ramadan was most helpful in increasing your Iman etc.
For example, did Laylatul Qadr help you increase the amount of times you read Quran,
did the last 10 days help you become less of a shopaholic?

Insha-Allah this will come of some help to you...
Ramadan Mubarak if you are fasting,
Eid Mubarak if you are celebrating Eid!

The story of Yusuf (AS) continued.

Asaalam everyone,
Yesterday I was writing about the life of the Prophet Yusuf (AS), and I decided to finish of the story today, so without further delay, here we go:

Yusuf (AS) was let free, and after Zulakhia proved his innocence, he left the prison and was given a high responsibility, to look after finance and food. Once, the rest of his brothers were travelling to Egypt and Yusuf (AS) remembered them, however, they did not remember him, as he was quite young when they threw him into the well. Yusuf (AS) treated them to some item (If I remember correctly, for their trade, I am not very sure...) and even secretly put their money back into their bags, however, he said he heard they had another brother(his blood brother) and if they did not bring him next time they wouldn't get the items at such a great price. They knew their father would not allow him to go. They made so many promises, and eventually he allowed him to go. Yusuf (AS) was so happy to see his blood brother he invited them to dinner, and shared his room with his blood brother, and explained who he really was, and as he wanted him to stay, he placed an item in his bag. Whoever had the item could not leave- so he could not leave?

Obviously, his blood brother.

The brothers had no choice but to leave without him and after explaining to his father, his father was not happy but said that Allah knows best.
In fact, Yaqoob (AS)- their father, had actually lost his eyesight after crying so much when Yusuf (AS) was lost. Yaqoob (AS) knew they were together, and told his sons to look for them.

The brothers found out AYusuf (AS) was their brother and Yusuf (AS) told them there was no need to ask for his forgiveness, but to ask for Allah's forgiveness. Yusuf (AS) also told them to use his shirt and to take it to their father, and from the Yacoob (AS) regained his sight.
All of them settled in Egypt and the clan became the Banee Israel clan. Yusuf (AS) breathed his last at 105 years old. The Kingdom became Firawn's.

However,have you noticed something...
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was also from this clan...

Laylatul Qadr blog 4-5- the story of Prophet Yusuf (AS)

Asaalam everyone,
It is nearly sehri Insha-Allah and I thought I need to write this blog, and also I heard a beautiful story the other day and wanted to tell it to you.
I just finished reading some Quran and thought, why not quickly write up this story, so here we go...
This is the story of Prophet Yusuf (AS):

The Prophet Yusuf (AS)was another Prophet's son. Yusuf's (AS) father was Prophet Yaqoob (AS), in the Bible, they are referred to as the Prophet Jacob (Yaqoob) and the Prophet Joseph (Yusuf).
They Prophet Yusuf (AS) had many brothers, but only one BLOOD brother.
Once, the Prophet Yusuf (AS) had a dream, which he told his father about, and his father there was something special about this dream. Something, that was special, in a good way.
However, he also knew telling his brothers would cause jealousy, and therefore told Yusuf (AS) not to tell his brothers about the dream.Yaqoob (AS) had a lot of love for Yusuf (AS) and would not let him out alone, but as his brothers were beginning to envy him, they decided to beg the Dad to let him go to graze the sheep with them, so they could complete the plan they had devised, to get rid, of Yusuf (AS)...

After lots of beginning, Yaqoob (AS) gave his permission, and when they took Yusuf (AS) along with them, they threw him into a well, after making him take his shirt off, which they rubbed blood onto (from a slaughtered animal) to convince Yacoob (AS) that Yusuf (AS) had been eaten by a wolf.

Yaqoob (AS) knew it was not true, but said that Allah will reunite him and his son if it is written.

Yusuf (AS) was found, but he was sold, as a slave to the slave market, and as Yusuf (AS) was very handsome, news of him spread around, people tried to buy him, but eventually it was the King who bought him and said to his wife they will raise him like he was their own child. Zulaikha, which was the name of the King's wife, however, did not go as per this, she followed him around the castle, she tried to tempt him, but he would not break. Once, she even tried to take advantage of him, and his shirt got torn from the back. The King entered, and seeing the position, thought that Zulakhia was innocent, but that Yusuf (AS) was guilty. A baby, however, spoke, and said that if his shirt is ripped from the back then she is lying, and if his shirt is ripped from the front then he is lying. Obviously, Yusuf's (AS) shirt was ripped from the back.

Soon, rumours spread and more and more people started talking about Zulakhia.
Zulakhia tried to prove that the only reason it had happen was because of his beauty, and therefore called a group of 40 women, and they cut fruit whilst there, when Yusuf (AS) walked in, they cut through the fruit and cut their fingers. However, they started saying that he must be an angel, Zulakhia was not happy and begged her husband to prison Yusuf (AS), and her husband eventually gave in, also thinking if he is prisoned he will be the talk of the town and no longer his wife. At the same time Yusuf (AS) was prisoned, two others were. One who served one to the king, and the king's chef. They had each had a dream and thought that Yusuf (AS) looked wise, so they explained their dreams to him and he told them that the chef will be executed but the wine server will be let free. Yusuf (AS) asked the wine server to tell the King of his innocence when he is let free. Yusuf (AS) was right and one was executed while the other let free, and in his happiness he forgot what Yusuf had asked him to do until the King himself had a dream and asked if there was anyone who could tell him what it meant, as after asking many others he discovered no one at all knew what it meant.
This is when the wine server remembered and told the King that someone in the prison could help and that he was innocent.

So, the King said, if he is right, he can be let free. Yusuf (AS) told him what his dream meant, and the King thought it made sense, so he let him free, and said he wanted to sue his knowledge. However, Yusuf (AS) refused, he wanted to be proven innocent. Zulakhia had begun to feel guilty over time and proved Yusuf's (AS) innocence.

So Yusuf (AS) was freed, but he knew he would meet hisbrothers again...

Insha-Allah I will continue this story tommorow, for now:
RAMADAN MUBARAK, and also have a nice sehri!

I will try find more videos for my next blogs Insha-Allah.

Apologies.

Asaalam everyone,
I have been VERY behind on blogs recently and just wanted to apologise.
Insha-Allah I will be catching up with them today,
the last odd night.
JZK for the cooperation.

Things to do on Laylatul Qadr

Asaalam everyone,
It's the 27th night, and most people stay up for Laylatul Qadr, tonight, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. You see, it's not confirmed that Laylatul Qadr is on the 27th night of Ramadan, rather it can be on the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th, therefore, you should stay awake on each of these nights and you should spend thesr nights in Ibadah.

Today, all I wanted to do was share a quick article with you on things you can do in Ramadan...
yes, this is a very short blog, but Insha-Allah, I will write my Laylatul Qadr blog sometime after 10 ish to about 2ish in the morning, I'll try fit it in sometime between these two blogs Insha-Allah.

Training for the rest of the year.

Asaalam everyone!
I know that I did a blog recently about the abilities you would be taking away from Ramadan, but today I am going to talk more deeply into this topic.

Recently, at many talks I've been to, I've heard this point that Ramadan isn't switch on and then stop. You don't come out now and go into hibernation after Ramadan. It's like a training ground, to get ready for the rest of the year, or a blender, your making a milkshake so you can drink it for the rest of the year, and you need the right ingredients. There are different flavours, everyone's probably going to make a different one, or take away a different one, with different ingredients. If you do not use the right ingredients then your milkshake will not turn out right. It should keep you energised, keep you cool etc. whatever the purpose should be. However, it won't be if you have not made it properly.

So what abilites MIGHT you be taking away? It's probably different for everyone. I just wanted to write down a few habits you may or may not be taking away from Ramadan, just a general chat on the topic.

Firstly, some of the basics, how about Salah? In this month I see people clean the slate and start again, especially with salah. Maybe you were running behind on Salah just before Ramadan, getting into the habit of it now will help you for the rest of the year. Maybe it might just be waking up for Fajr instead, or staying awake a little later, maybe just waking up afterwards from a quick nap, for Eesha.

Secondly, maybe you have found a charity you want to donate to again. Giving charity benefits YOU, so why think of it as a burden? It helps others in the process to.

Maybe you have gained some health benefits, maybe you used to have one STRICT diet. One thing for breakfast, another for lunch, another for dinner, same thing for breakfast tomorrow and so on, and you have to eat at one time. Through fasting you might lose this habit, and instead you will have a more varied diet.
I have a relative whose health has actually got better through fasting, obviously if you know your health will get worse through fasting, you don't have to fast, but that's a different topic, Insha-Allah, I will
write about that tomorrow, or another time.

Finally, perhaps you have adapted a good quality or lost a bad one, for example maybe you have become more patient, or have become less greedy etc.

It really depend on how your Ramadan has gone.
I hope you are having a nice Ramadan!
Ramadan Mubarak!

Laylatul Qadr blog three-some dua's.

Asaalam everyone!
Welcome to my third Laylatul Qadr blog, you may or may not know that on every odd night now (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th Ramadan), I am writing a Laylatul Qadr blog, and each blog is usually on a topic I have learnt about recently, or specifically for this blog. In yesterdays regular blog I wrote a wudhu guide, and I said that I would write the dua's in this blog, so that's what I am going to do. I am going to write down some dua's, including the dua's we should read in wudhu.

Before I start, I just wanted to explain when I write this blog, because I realise there might be some confusion...
For example, I did say I would write an extra blog every odd night along with my regular blog for Laylatul Qadr...
It is past 01:30 in the morning, and I wrote my last blog yesterday. You see, regarding Islamic days the night comes before the day... so it is the 25th night but after sehri (the predawn meal- I think this is the point where the new Islamic day starts) it will be the 25th day, Islamically, then it will be the 26th night and then the 26th day Insha-Allah. If you get what I mean. Moving on, I tend to write these blogs after reading some Quran etc. during the odd nights...I hope you get what I'm saying, because I'm confusing myself right now, but I have no better way to put it. Insha-Allah, I'll state when I'm hoping my Laylatul Qadr blog will be ready by in my regular blogs.

Let's move onto some dua's. I want you to picture in your mind, what you do in the morning, when you've woke up for say, breakfast, on a working day.
You might change first-
after freshening up, then you might eat breakfast, have something to drink, leave the house and board the car.
I can think of many dua's for this one task:
Dua after waking up, dua before eating, if your drinking milk, maybe the dua after drinking milk,or if drinking water, after drinking water, salaam to anyone in the house, dua when leaving home and finally, dua when boarding a vehicle.
Today I am going to write down the wudhu duas, and another dua, and find something online for you to use for duas and recommend a book for learning duas.

First of all, the dua before wudhu:

Bismillahi-wal-hamdullillah.
"In the name of Allah, all praises are due to Allah."

(I am unsure why the translation is  different, explanation at end)

The dua during wudhu:

Allah-humag-firlli-zambi-wawasi-leafy-daree-wa-bariq-leafy-riz-ki (sounds more like key than something like kai).
"Oh Allah! Forgive me my sins, and grant me abundance in my home and grant me blessings in my sustenance."

The dua after wudhu:

Allah-humaj-alknee-menatowa-bena-wajalknee-menal-muh-tha-tha-heeren.
"Allah! Make me among the repenters and among those who are clean and pure."

Dua when making Iftari at someones house.

Afthar-enda-cumus-sa-eemoona-wa-a-ca-la-tha-a-ma-cu-mulabraroo-wa-salat-alaycumulmalaeecatu.

Today, I used my dua book to find the meanings of the duas and in general, the duas.
I got the pictures off the internet to show you the arabic, so I have not shown two different meanings on purpose, it was just like that. The meanings I have written are from my dua book. It is called "Basic Essentials for Muslims" and I recommend you get it. It has the basics, but a large variety of duas, like duas before eating, duas in namaaz etc.
Have a nice sehri and I hope the rest of your odd night goes well.
If your reading this nicely, I hope your sehri and night went well!
Ramadan Mubarak! Oh, and here's a different video- I can hardly find any videos that are from the other series, but there must be one left- Insha-Allah. This is quite nice to though.

Wudhu guide.

Asaalam everyone!
Today I am going to write a guide to wudhu, as I haven't really wrote any thing based on fiqh, or any basics. Therefore today I am going to write a guide to wudhu using my Taleemul Haq.

Firstly, let's start with with the niyyat. For Wudhoo, the niyyat (at heart) should be : "I am performing Wudhoo to get rid of Hadase Asghar", Hadase Asghar is the need of Wudhoo. Wudhu, or ablution, is basically to wash one's hands, feet etc. before performing Salah. As you may have heard, you cannot read/touch the Quran without wudhu-
but that's a more varied topic for me, because there are other things you cannot touch without wudhu either, but I have heard you can do certain things to touch the Quran if you are a woman on menses etc. however, I'm not sure though, so you would probably have to do your own research.

Let's carry on with the rest of Wudhu:
READ THE DUA BEFORE MAKING WUDHU.
1. Use clean water to wash both hands up to the wrists twice.
2. Use a miswaak to clean your teeth, and then gargle thrice.
A miswaak is like a piece of wood you can use to clean your teeth.
Using a Miswaak is Sunnat, so the Prophet SAW used to do it, and using a miswaak increases the reward of your Namaaz by 70 times.
4.  After that, take some water upto the nostrils thriceusing the right hand and clean your nose with the left hand.
5. Thereafter wash the face from the hairy part of the forehead to below the chin, and also from one earlobe to another thrice.
6. If you are a male, at this point- make Khilal of the beard.
7. After that, wash your right hand including the elbow thrice, then do this again except to the left hand thrice.
8. Now make Khilal of the fingers-
what you have to do is pass the wet fingers of one hand through the fingers of the other hand.
9. At this point read the dua whilst making wudhu.
10. Now make Masah, keep your middle, ring and little finger together with the thumb and index finger raised away, and keep those two fingers away from the head. Pass the other three fingers from the forehead to the upper part of the nape. Place the palms of the hands on the side of the head and bring them forward (so they arrive at the forehead). Insert the front part of your index fingers into the ears (openings) and make masah behind the ears by using the thumbs to rub the back once) Use the three fingers that we used earlier to make masah of the nape (pass them over the nape).
11. Wash your right foot and remember to wash the ankles, and make khilal of the toes by passing a finger in between them beginning at the little toe of the left foot. Use the little finger for Khilal here.
Do the same for the left foot, and end the khilal with the little toe of the right foot.
Now read the dua after completing Wudhu, and if you want Kalimah Shahaadat before and Surah Qadr after.
I'll write the duas for wudhu in my second blog today because it is an odd night, so I'm writing a second blog Insha-Allah! Be sure to read that, and I am thinking of doing it on different dua's, like the dua before sleeping etc.

I hope you Ramadan is going well, I hope you have a nice Iftari, and that you have a nice third odd night!
Ramadan Mubarak!

A few days left...

Asaalam everyone,
You probably know my latest blogs have been about making the most of the last few days of Ramadan, therefore, I wanted to write this blog today.
This blog is going to be quite short, but Insha-Allah it will come of use to you.

A few days ago, in another one of my posts I placed an activity there.
It was a review of how you've done.
We're going to do a similar thing today,
if you have done that and still have it then it may come to use.

Any other activities that you've done may come to use as well.
What I want you to do is write down an evaluation on one side of a sheet of paper.
This is of what you've done that your happy with.

On the other side,
I want you to write down a list of what you still have to do.
Throughout these remaining days I want you to do just that,
and begin to do what you haven't.
I want you to cross off anything you do.

This blog was probably one of the shortest I have done,
but I am planning to do quite a long posts tomorrow,
for both blogs I write tomorrow.
Insha-Allah,
this blog has helped you in some way.

I hope you are having a nice Ramadan,
Ramadan Mubarak!
